Thanksgiving is fast approaching and millions of Americans are getting ready to celebrate in whatever way they see fit.

One of the ways that many Americans are very used to celebrating is by attending the Macy's parade.

Many eyes will be on the special parade in Manhatten, New York, which takes place each year. The pageant takes place each year and features balloons, floats, cheerleaders, clowns and much more.

There are also going to be Broadway performances and action from celebrities for the watching crowd to enjoy, both on TV and in person.

When is the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade?

Naturally, the parade takes place on Thanksgiving which is Thursday, November 23.

It starts at 77th St and Central Park West and heads down to 34th Street to Macy's Herald Square.

There is a key difference this year with the start time of the parade.

For the first time in almost a century, the event is going to start half an hour earlier than normal. It will be at 08:30 ET, starting with a performance from Jon Batiste.

The 2.5 miles of public viewing begin at West 77th Street & Central Park West and flows down Central Park West before winding around Columbus Circle and onto Central Park South and Sixth Avenue. Finally, it files down Sixth Avenue to Macy's Herald Square.

You will be able to watch the parade live on NBC from 08:30 on Thanksgiving. You can also tune in at noon to pick up the stream on Peacock.
