Dr Hattie Davis Activist – In their annual December tradition, “Saturday Night Live” co-hosts Colin Jost and Michael Che continued their joke swap, bringing laughter and cringe-worthy moments to the audience. This time, Che upped the difficulty level for Jost by introducing a special guest, “someone very special who was last on this show, Season 3, 46 years ago” – the fictional poet, author, and activist, Dr. Hattie Davis.

Jost, aware that reading Che’s jokes in front of Dr. Davis would be a challenge, embraced the comedic endeavor. One of the notable quips targeted Jost’s movie star wife, Scarlett Johansson. “New York state now allows movie theaters to serve alcohol, which is how I’m finally able to enjoy my wife’s little art movies,” Jost read, displaying a playful jab at Johansson’s film choices. He then continued with a mischievous smile, “I’m kidding, honey. I love all of your movies. And if you ask me, you’re an even better black widow than Coretta Scott King.” The comparison prompted a disapproving reaction from Dr. Davis.

The exchange wasn’t one-sided, as Che had his turn delivering some out-of-pocket jokes, including a mention of Beyoncé’s Instagram photo. “Last month Beyoncé posted a photo on Instagram of herself in a chrome Versace dress and platinum blonde hair that many people online described as ‘too white,'” Che read, before delivering a zinger that added a layer of surprise, “In fact, Beyoncé looked so white that I was finally attracted to her.” The complete segment showcased the comedic chemistry between Jost and Che, blending humor with a touch of cringe-worthy moments, making it a memorable part of the “Saturday Night Live” experience.
